Hello, I’m Claire 🌿

I believe websites are more than design projects. They’re personal. They carry your voice, your values, your vision. My role is to create a space that feels like home for your work, so you can share it with clarity and confidence.

When people work with me, they often arrive feeling scattered, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to start. By the end of our first conversation, they usually feel relief, clarity, and a sense of process, like there’s finally a clear path forward.

I fell into this work kind of by accident.

Over the years, I started small projects: a blog to stay in touch while travelling; an online shop for reusable wrapping fabrics; building a showcase for local craft and design; and each time I launched my latest online thing people asked, “Could you make one for me?”

I also noticed a real disconnect: talented people making beautiful things struggled to translate what they did into a digital space. And I wanted to help.

Backyard Creative grew from this impulse. I wanted their work, whether art, writing, community projects, recipes, or creative offerings to be online in a beautiful (and useful) way.

Now, I love being able to help people doing amazing things in the world share their message with clarity and ease. It’s deeply rewarding to see these ideas, energy, and vision come alive online.

When I’m not building websites, I’m out trail running, photographing flowers, upcycling things, or exploring with my rescue dog Alaska.

I’m currently revisiting childhood comfort books: Anne of Green Gables, The Summer Book, and The Secret Garden, and finding inspiration in their quiet curiosity and wonder.
